Notifications
Kosalo requests permission to send you push notifications on your device. We use notifications to alert you when your financial records are updated, when a secretary records a transaction on your behalf, or when there are important updates related to your group. You can manage or disable notifications at any time through your device settings.

Camera and Photo Gallery
When you choose to use the AI Assistant feature, Kosalo requests access to your device camera and photo gallery. This allows you to take photos or upload images of your physical record books, which the AI Assistant then scans and processes to automatically record your group’s contributions and loans into the app. Camera and gallery access is used only when you actively initiate the AI scanning feature. Kosalo does not store or transmit your photos to third parties.

All device permissions are requested only when the relevant feature is first used and are optional. You may deny or revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings, though doing so may limit certain features.

2. How We Use Your Information

Kosalo uses the information collected to:

  • Provide and improve our services
  • Respond to inquiries and support requests
  • Improve platform functionality and security
  • Communicate important updates via in-app notifications and email
  • Enable AI-assisted record scanning when you use the AI Assistant feature

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. All user data is encrypted, and each user can only access their own financial data. Only the secretary of a group has access to full member reports.
